The bodies of 14 people, believed to be from Burma's Karen ethnic group, have been found floating in a river on the border with Thailand.

The corpses were spotted Saturday in Tak province, about 420 kilometers north of Bangkok.

Police say the people were murdered at least a week ago. Authorities speculate that the killings could be linked to illegal immigration gangs.
