15 Killed in Latest Kashmir Clashes

At least 13 Muslim militants and two Indian soldiers have been killed in clashes in Indian-administered Kashmir.

Indian security forces shot dead three unidentified militants in a gunbattle near the Tral area of Pulwama district, south of Srinigar, the Kashmiri summer capital.

In another incident, police say two militants and a soldier were killed in a gunbattle in the area of Kokernag, located about 70 kilometers south of Srinagar.

Police say the encounter erupted during a search operation by the Indian army and lasted several hours.

In another incident at Kotli Kalaban, two militants were shot dead by police.

At least two militants were killed Sunday morning in the Mahore area of Udhampur district.

Elsewhere, a soldier and four militants were killed in separate gunbattles across restive Jammu and Kashmir state since Saturday night.
