A Hong Kong doctor says people in the territory are more likely to catch the flu because they talk too much and are too loud.

Thomas Chan, a professor at Chinese University, says since the noise levels in crowded Hong Kong are so high, people tend to shout to be heard. He added that people who keep their mouths open longer also increase chance of the flu virus attacking the throat or airways.

About 60 percent of Hong Kong workers surveyed said they had suffered the flu or a similar illness last year.
