INTRO: President Bush denounced the deadly bombing that ripped through the U-N headquarters in Baghdad. V-O-A's Paula Wolfson reports Mr. Bush says the United States will do all it can to aid rescue efforts, and bring the bombers to justice.

TEXT: The president says the bombing was the work of terrorists who fear progress and hate peace.

Speaking to reporters at his Texas ranch, Mr. Bush vowed reconstruction efforts in Iraq will continue.

The civilized world will not be intimidated. And these killers will not determine the future of Iraq.

The president said Iraq is on an irreversible course toward self-government and peace, and the United States and the U-N will not turn away. He said the Iraqi people face a challenge and a choice. Mr. Bush said they must fight terror and reject those who want to return to the days of torture chambers and mass graves in Iraq. (signed)
