Israeli forces have pulled out of three more West Bank villages as fighting rages elsewhere in the West Bank between Israeli troops and Palestinian militant fighters. Israel withdrew from Yatta, Qabatya, and Samua on Wednesday after Prime Minister Ariel Sharon aimed a sharp complain at the United States, saying it should stop pressuring him to end Israel's West Bank offensive.

Mr. Sharon spoke after a Palestinian suicide bomber blew up an Israeli bus, killing eight passengers and himself near the northern city of Haifa. The Islamic militant group Hamas claimed responsibility, saying the attack proves Israel's West Bank operation is a failure.

Israel launched the offensive into Palestinian towns and cities March 29 after a series of Palestinian suicide bomb attacks.

Mr. Sharon says Israel is in a war of survival and will continue the offensive until it destroys Palestinian terror groups. Israel says it took control Wednesday of the West Bank's Jenin refugee camp after days of fierce fighting.

Hamas says the latest suicide bomber was from the Jenin refugee camp. Israel says at least 300 Palestinian fighters surrendered in Jenin Wednesday. On Tuesday, 13 Israeli soldiers were killed there when a building Israel said was booby-trapped exploded.

Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat accuses Israeli forces of killing 500 Palestinians during its offensive. On Monday, Israel pulled out of Qalqilia and Tulkarem, saying it had completed its sweep of the two cities for members of Palestinian terror groups.
