*This document constitutes a statement of faith in summary formThe following articles set forth a general and comprehensive summary of what we at help-for-you believe. All members of this ministry must, without mental reservation, adhere to and be in complete agreement with this statement.
WE BELIEVE that the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are inspired of God and in reading them we must seek revelation from the Holy Spirit in order to apply them to our lives. As such they are the only authoritative written source for Christian guidance and understanding of the purpose and plan of God for us as individuals and for mankind at large. Within this written "Word of God" we find the rules of faith and conduct for the Christian and the revelation of the plan and purpose of God. But we believe also that God inspires all Christians and that many good works in the form of books, Bible studies, and other such writings, teachings and preaching can be helpful towards our edification and the building of our faith but lack the same authority as the Bible and therefore should be consulted but subjected always to the final authority of the Bible and should be in agreement with the Bible. If this were not true then we should simply just read our Bible and not seek and share help towards edification between members of the Christian community. WE BELIEVE in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and we believe that these three are co-eternal and of equal dignity and power.
WE BELIEVE in the deity of Jesus Christ; His miraculous conception by the Holy Spirit; His virgin birth; His sinless, perfect life; His vicarious and substitutionary death through the shedding of His blood on the Cross of Calvary; His bodily resurrection for our justification; His sending of the Holy Spirit to believers to unite as one with their spirit and to teach us how to grow in oneness by being transformed to the likeness of Him in mind and character, His requirement that we who receive the Holy Spirit must subject ourselves in total obedience to His Will giving our lives in His service so that all things that we do we do as if unto Him, His ascension to the right hand of the Father; His present ministry as High Priest and Advocate; His personal and imminent return, "Our blessed Hope"; and we believe that all things shall finally be subjected to Him. WE BELIEVE that man was created by and for God; that by disobeying God, he (every person) became a sinner and thereby incurred spiritual death, which is separation from God, and physical death as a consequence; and that all the human race are born in sin and are sinners by nature and practice.
WE BELIEVE that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins, according to the Scriptures, as a vicarious, substitutionary sacrifice, and that all who believe in Him are justified on the grounds of His shed blood. Their status with God is then righteous and it is incumbent upon the believer to sanctify himself unto his Lord and Master and to live according to the teachings of Jesus Christ as presented in the four gospels.
WE BELIEVE in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit indwelling all believers and thus enabling and empowering the life and ministry of the Christian. Further we believe this involves a oneness between our spirit and His spirit. Also, we believe that by virtue of this oneness we have life eternal because God is Life Eternal. God's main attribute is love and because of this oneness we live in His Love. For this oneness to transform us into His image we must be obedient. Therefore we believe, through obedience we express His Love in our lives to each other and mankind in the manner taught by Jesus in the four gospels. WE BELIEVE in the bodily resurrection of the just and unjust, the everlasting blessedness of the saved, and the everlasting punishment of the lost.
WE BELIEVE that the church is an elect company of believers and that it is the body of Christ, having been formed by the work of the Holy Spirit in all those who trust Christ as their Savior. Further, we believe that because as a believer we are one with God through the Holy Spirit we are also therefore one with all believers who have received the Holy Spirit. Therefore we are all members of His body united literally as one through the Holy Spirit. As such we believe we must live holy lives because God lives within us. WE BELIEVE, in view of Christ's last command known as the Great Commission and the lost condition of all those who fail to accept the gospel, that it is our mission to preach the gospel to the whole world. But it is also our commission as Christians to behave in His Love according to His teachings and to promote Christian oneness and growth between ourselves as members of the Body of Christ and all new members who come to believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. It is also the commission of all Christians to demonstrate in their lives His Love. It is also the commission of all Christians to live in faith, by being obedient to His Will in our lives and to come to terms with Him regarding his plan and purpose for us (our service to Him) as it integrates into His plan and purpose for humanity. That also, we are joint heirs with him by virtue or our oneness. |
