Overcomers On Line Study Bible Support Page Subject: ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWX This web page is under construction. But when it and the collection of support pages are completed will reflect in it's content a significantly different approach than that traditionally used by Study Bibles. Peruse the content of this template support page for a better understanding of the OOLSB and it's support pages. 1. The New Testament has been given two forms, the form of a key word outline and the usual form of an English translation. However, both forms are imbedded with URLs that reference a customized analytical lexicon that has encyclopedic attributes which reflect cultural and historic influences and ties into mainstream themes. As a result, the user of the Overcomers OLSB can work directly in the Greek even if they are unfamiliar with New Testament Greek. 2. These imbedded URLs also reference Greek expositions and exegesis in the form of pop up web pages. Within such web pages the user is able to hear the Greek word or verse according to at least two pronunciation approaches, the modern Greek and a compromised form of New Testament Koine Greek that merges several differing prominent pronunciation guides. The guides are provided as part of the Tools section. 3. Within support pages containing Greek exegesis are information layout techniques that provide for the parsing of every Greek word according to a parsing code. The use of the parsing code is set out as a tool which the user can reference from within any area containing exegesis or from the Tools section. This use of the term tool also applies to bringing up a reading of the Greek word or Greek passage and is also available in the same manner. Also, English grammar guides are presented in a similar way as tools. The tools are provided to ensure that a truly knowledgeable effort can be effected by anyone serious about the intent of New Testament passages and themes. 4. Within all of this there are other cross references to popular so called tools. One example is the embedded Strong's Cross Reference numbers as well as page and section references to the Analytical Greek Lexicon by Wigram. 5. Mainstream New Testament themes are developed as they apply to daily living with regard to the taking on of the mind and character of Jesus Christ. From this perspective there are many supporting themes one example being Theology and within that theme many other supporting themes that can be seen in a hierarchical diagram. Various themes overlap and that overlap is identified. As with the New Testament bible passages the Themes themselves are embedded with URLs to provide exposition and exegesis. 6. Translation of any part of the New Testament is approached not just from the word meaning and word usage but more importantly how that passage fits the mainstream New Testament themes. The New Testament writers intent is obviously and most often a reflection of how they see issues in general. Therefore, there is in all cases a correlative exercise that goes into translation of intent. Themes are imbedded with many scriptural references which result in overlap or cross over between themes. But the effort in all of this has been expended to bring together that which is clearly related and to focus on common accord and to identify theme digressions and explain those digressions using evidence of cultural and situational analysis. 7. The object of the OOLSB is to place into the hands and minds of the everyday practicing Christians the means to establish scriptural intent in a powerful and knowledgeable way that only requires they understand the English language and help is available even in this area of understanding. There is far too much intellectual snobbery present with the Christian educated elite who feel that only they can render the scriptural intent and exposition. Therefore, to provide tools for the common practicing Christian is to bring about a disastrous outcome characterized by the phrase "A little knowledge is a dangerous thing". If the Body of Christ is to ready itself and the schism between Christians and the proliferation and failure of denominational organizations and sects is to come to an end then a way must be opened for the common Christian to act out of a comprehensive knowledgeable understanding as opposed to being constantly positioned to take sides on doctrinal issues. One very important aspect of knowledge that is stressed in the Overcomers On Line Study Bible (OOLSB) is the knowledge provided by Christ Himself as received by Him from the Father and passed to the believer by means of the Holy Spirit. These are the words of Christ as recorded in the New Testament and these are also the revelations that come to our mind when the Holy Spirit opens to us meaning contained in the scriptures as he so did with His disciples. Members of the Body of Christ must learn to love one another and those in the world as Christ loves them and in that context be led in all things and at all times by the Holy Spirit both individually and collectively as a Body of Believers. How we love (care for one another and feel, support, and trust one another) as members of the Body of Christ must be Christ Like as revealed in the scriptures and bound to His intent. Therefore, we must be focussed prioritized in our life around this intent. Both the mind of the individual and the so called common mind of the assembly must therefore be opened to the intent of the scriptures by Christ through the Holy Spirit. For Christ is with us and one with us by means of the Holy Spirit. Therefore, study of the scriptures should not be a solely personal isolated effort made independent of other believers. Synergy can and should occur between believers via the Holy Spirit. The more knowledgeable the common Christian becomes with respect to this relationship between himself or herself, the Godhead, the Body of Christ, and humanity as a whole, the less likely it will be for so called Christian leadership intent on destroying this relationship from being successful. Any so called Christian leader that does not so focus and prioritize their life and teach others to do so is working against the Holy Spirit. All Christian leadership functionality should be clearly manifested by the Holy Spirit as directed by Jesus Christ on behalf of God the Father who is in heaven. This makes all true Christians servants and co-workers with Jesus Christ and the concept of church leadership far different than what we see taking place in our modern age with it's world focussed culture and society. The notion of leadership being those that lead by example as opposed to those that lead by authority, those that accept and submit to the view that everyone can and should be a leader at some time and in some way is fundamental to being a Christian. The notion that Christ Himself as He abides within us and us in Him by means of the Holy Spirit as our single source of authoritative leadership should be understood and practiced and never twisted as it is today when church authorities claim their positions are one of authority under Christ as they manipulate, control and dispense spiritual nourishment when and as they see fit to those of lesser authority, the churches and congregations under their control. True leaders should be equipping and preparing the saints for leadership and to minister to one another according to the movement of the Holy Spirit. We need to learn consistent with the scripture and based on our sharing and experience how the Holy Spirit moves us individually and corporately. True leaders do not organizing around their authority rather they organize around the dynamics of how the Holy spirit works in our souls individually and collectively. True Christian leadership is by Christ through the Holy Spirit and affects everything even to when, how and why we congregate as well as our behavior with regard to one another when we congregate together as well as when we are apart. But today there seems to be a lot of so called leadership who do not reflect this attitude but an attitude where church leadership authorities control where, how, why and when the Holy Spirit blesses anyone. And it is these same church authorities whether they are appointed or elected that make judgements upon the suitability of what the assembly does as individuals and collectively as well as with the resources of time and money. This is control even if it is established democratically. True leadership prepares and equips and provides an example of individual interaction with the Body of Christ and does not act as a control structure and only reverts to remedial authoritative behavior as a last resort. Human authoritative leadership interaction is common only because that leadership has not done it's job of preparing and equipping the saints to minister to one another towards edification in the transformation into the mind and character of Jesus Christ. The perceived need to establish authoritative hierarchies within assemblies of saints is a testimony of failure of those saints and those leaders to establish love, trust, faith, and support with each other. That leadership by all should be in the form of sharing, and the necessary collaborative and intimate social intercourse called Divine Fellowship that allows each to show leadership in helping to build the other's transformation into the likeness of the mind and character of Jesus Christ and be in a common accord with each other and Christ through the Holy Spirit. The work of the Holy Spirit is dynamic and responsive to human needs. This work occurs dynamically in response to the free expression of human will. Heavy planning and orchestration of the assembly of the saints should not be the case, rather we should be organized to allow these dynamics and be open to the proper scriptural expression at all times in the lives of all members of the Body of Christ. And any so called leaders should be participative and submissive to Christ through this expression of the Holy Spirit not the other way around. This template web page has provided information on the organization and usage of the OOLSB support web pages and while so doing in the seventh point above has also outlined one of the most important themes of the New Testament - the theme of Christian leadership . ============================================================ |
